2002 Honda Civic Si, chassis code EP3 — USDM 3-door hatchback built at Honda of U.K. Manufacturing in Swindon, England. Factory drivetrain: 2.0L K20A3 i-VTEC, 160 hp / 132 lb-ft, 5-speed manual, 4.764 final drive. Curb weight ~2,744 lbs. Satin Silver Metallic (NH-623M). Factory wheel/tire 195/60R15. Shares platform and suspension architecture with the Acura RSX (DC5).
Performance Modifications:
Installed: JDM K24A swap with RBB-2 head — 2.4L DOHC i-VTEC, 3-lobe cams (VTEC on intake and exhaust), 2,354cc, 10.5:1, 87x99mm, ~190 hp crank factory rating. Hondata KPro4 on a PNF ECU, self-tuned, 7,600 rpm redline. Acura RDX 410cc Denso injectors. Catless exhaust. CRV passenger-side mount bracket; EP3 crank position and knock sensors moved onto the K24 block for harness compatibility. Currently ~170 whp. In progress: fender-well cold air intake, PLM K24 header with 2.5" midpipe, PNN4 6-speed swap with factory helical LSD, 40-degree VTC gear.
Interior Modifications:
Largely factory. Planned: oil pressure gauge on a vent or A-pillar mount.
Exterior Modifications:
Factory bodywork in original Satin Silver Metallic (NH-623M). Hood, fenders, and front bumper refinish planned.
Wheels:
17" aftermarket, 4x100.
Tires:
Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus all-seasons, 225/45R17 (24.97" overall diameter — 3.14% taller than the factory 195/60R15). Rotated every 5,000 miles.
Suspension:
Tein Flex Z coilovers (VSA22-CUSA1) — twin-tube oil/gas, full-length height adjustment independent of spring preload, 16-way damping, pillow-ball camber-adjustable front upper mounts. 6 kgf/mm front (~336 lb/in), 8 kgf/mm rear (~448 lb/in). Currently 12 clicks from full stiff.
Audio, Video, and Technology:
Kenwood DMX709S digital media receiver — 6.95" floating capacitive touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Front stage: Alpine R-Series 6.5" hi-res 2-way components with glass-fiber-reinforced cones. Rear: Alpine R-Series 6.5" hi-res 2-way coaxials, same cone material. All four channels run off a Pioneer 4-channel Class D amp. Bass is a Kicker CompR 12" dual-voice-coil 2-ohm loaded enclosure on a Pioneer mono Class D amp. Grounding reworked (short amp ground to bare sanded metal, head unit grounded direct to chassis, RCAs routed opposite the power run) to kill alternator whine.
