While Fiat-Chrysler has been busy rebuild the Alfa Romeo brand here in the U.S., another team has been working on a high-voltage future. Because hybrids and battery power are the future, Maserati has previewed their 2021 electric lineup.
In a press release this morning, we’ve learned that the technology and hardware are 100% Italian. Their first hybrid will be a revised Ghibli later this year, while the GranTurismo and GranCabrio will be all-electric next year.
Fiat-Chrysler’s Mirafiori plant has been the home of Lancia, Autobianchi, Alfa Romeo, and most Fiat models since 1939. This historic plant was inaugurated by Mussolini, and it has received nearly 900,000 for the building of an electric assembly line. The same amount is also being invested at the Cassino plant for the new Levante upcoming big brother.
